Gamified Training and FUNDAE: How They Fit Together
· elmeetingpoint
Gamified training can be eligible for funding if it develops professional skills and meets the applicable requirements.
Gamified training can start with a challenge, a negotiation, or an unexpected situation. Its training value emerges when this experience serves to develop professional skills and connects with the company's day-to-day operations.
Play within a learning process
Imagine a dynamic where each team has only part of the information needed to solve a problem. The task allows practice in asking questions, listening, and coordination. Afterwards, the trainer helps identify what happened and transfer it to work situations.
This sequence requires objectives, content, and a training programme. The regulatory framework excludes purely informative or awareness-raising activities without a training process and those lasting less than two hours. The playful format, by itself, does not determine eligibility for funding.
To assess the fit with FUNDAE, you need to review the design and compliance with the action's requirements. A celebration or recreational activity does not automatically become training simply by bringing colleagues together.
What happens during an experiential session
A programme can start by identifying the skill you want to develop and proposing an exercise that forces you to put it into practice. During the activity, people make decisions and see their consequences within the challenge. Afterwards, facilitation recovers specific moments: what information was shared, what was taken for granted, or how disagreements between participants were resolved.
This conversation is especially useful when it avoids labelling people. Instead of concluding that someone communicates poorly, you can observe that an instruction didn't include the deadline or that no one checked whether the group understood it. Focusing on specific behaviours gives the team something they can practise differently.
Questions to compare proposals
When evaluating training, ask what will be worked on, how each dynamic links to it, and how learning will be verified. Also ask how the final reflection will be conducted and what materials will help capture it. These answers allow you to assess the programme's coherence before reviewing, with the training manager, the funding conditions. It's also worth asking what information the trainer needs to prepare examples and adjust the session to the group's professional context.
At elmeetingpoint, we combine play, facilitation, and reflection in our training offer. Tell us which skill you want to develop and request a programme to assess how well it fits.
